The 83rd Annual Santa Maria Elks Rodeo is just around the corner and entries will be accepted beginning Monday, March 16th, 2026 for one of the rodeo’s most loved events: Mutton Bustin’! Local kids have a unique opportunity to try their hand at some real rodeo action, riding a mutton (sheep) in the rodeo arena. The event is open to all children ages 5 to 7, weighing under 60 pounds. Each chosen contestant will have a chance to perform in one of our Rodeo events held during the four days of rodeo fun May 28th - 31st, 2026. Each participant will also receive a “goodie” bag of gifts. A champion belt buckle will be presented to the daily winner.
Starting on Monday March 16th, 2026 you can enter your child into the drawing, here at ElksRec.com. The form must be completely filled out in order to be officially entered. Entries close on Friday, April 3rd.
