77th Annual Santa Maria Elks Rodeo Cancelled

With heavy hearts, Elks Recreation has announced the cancellation of the 77th Annual Santa Maria Elks Rodeo and Parade. This decision has not been an easy one as it is the first break in our 77 year tradition, yet we are making the choice to respect our County and State leaders’ guidance and recommendations to protect the safety and well-being of our fans, volunteers, sponsors and contestants. All events pertaining to this year’s Rodeo (such as Mutton Bustin’, Elks Team Roping, Mini Rodeo Qualifier, and Beard-A-Reno) have also been cancelled. Under the current state orders, our office is closed until August 12th. If you are a Participant or a Season Ticket Holder to our Rodeo or one of it’s related events, please email our office at and we are happy to address any questions or concerns. We are excited to say the Elks Rodeo Queen Contest will continue strong through their respective virtual programs. We encourage our community to engage with our Queen Candidates for they are embarking on a unique year with a true spirit of determination to raise much needed funds for their respective campaigns.

Elks Recreation has been looking for an innovative way to unite our community with the same family experience and we are excited to announce our first Annual “Christmas in the Country”, our magical holiday light experience! Working with the City of Santa Maria’s Recreation and Parks Department, we invite you to join “Christmas in the Country” this Holiday season at the Elks Event Center located at 4040 S Hwy 101 in Santa Maria.

Visitors will embark on a drive through magical holiday light experience at the Elks Event Center with displays presented by local businesses and families. Health and safety protocols permitting, “Christmas in the Country” may also include opportunities to enjoy hot chocolate, candy canes, Christmas trees, and much more to help bring out the holiday spirit in our community while following all County and State guideline protocols.

Along with Christmas in the Country, we are excited to introduce “Stuff the Stocking” to bring awareness to Pediatric Cancer. All stocking proceeds will go to the Golden Circle of Champions program that is devoted to raising awareness of childhood cancer and provides financial support to families enduring childhood cancer.
